CL Barca 3 - 1 ManU

I guess it's almost impossible to defeat Barca at this stage. They are undeniably close to perfection. Even if you're not a fan, you gotta love watching the Catalans. ManU should've tried harder right after Rooney's equaliser, when there was still time and hope. Nonetheless, Edwin van der Sar is a god and almost irreplaceable. I can't believe he is going to retire, a huge loss to the football world. It's hard to let go. :'( So Manuel Neuer has decided to transfer to Bayern Munich instead of ManU. He's one of those smartasses that keep waiting around for opportunities, until they're too old or not good enough any more or severely injured (and too old to fully recover from it.) Let's just hope for the best.

Nerd

Back in junior high, things didn’t always go smoothly. I used to be one of those little nerds that got bullied. :D You know how teenage boys will eventually grow up and stop being bullies. But it’s different with mean girls. They don’t need to have obvious reasons. Once they start envying or feeling threatened by you, they will pick on you forever. Though you feel like crying, you have to pull yourself together. Teachers are immediately going to sense weakness and give you a hard time in addition. (Damn it teachers, I achieved the good grades and all! :D) I can have a good laugh about it now, but I guess I won’t ever forget. I hated that school. In my sophomore year I picked science courses which those mean girls weren’t smart enough for, but they still stuck around. 

No matter how awesome things are now, I still think about then and who I was. I turned out alright and I’m kind of grateful today. Things do happen for a reason.  I wouldn’t turn back time and make things right, even if I could. (There would be loads of serious ass-kicking and face-melting! :D Hell yeah!) 

After graduating, I left the country for a while. When I came back, I'd become a very mean person myself. Made a lot of enemies. I ran into some of them hags from junior high. Despite feeling like laughing right in their faces, I surprisingly didn't pick up a fight after all. A close friend of mine once told me:  “On my first day in primary school, I got beaten up by some guy in class. When I came home covered in bruises and wounds, my dad’s only reaction was ‘Did ya punch back and defeat him?’ I blinked hard, forced back the tears and nodded. He said ‘Good girl. Go have dinner!’ My dad taught me to never look for trouble, but to be able to deal with it if I got into trouble.” I wish my dad would have taught me stuff like that! :D I’m not saying that I went back to being nerdy again. I just figured it’d be healthier to maintain a low profile. Bullies tend to forget all they ever say and do just the minute after they say and do it, but victims will hold a grudge against you for life.

[鞋控] High Heels (2) – summery looks

Pünktlich zum Sommer stelle ich eine Auswahl zeitloser Sommer Heels vor. Wie zuvor werde ich die Schuhe eigenmächtig kategorisieren. Ihr wisst von meiner Schwäche für Nude und Animal Prints. Neben den Must-Have-Farben Nude, Silber, Schwarz und Prints, gibt es dieses Mal drei weitere Kategorien. Für jeden Anlass und jeden Geschmack dürfte da etwas dabei sein. Von Gladiatorensandalen mit dichtem Geflecht und schwarzen Pumps kann ich direkt abraten, die würden einen luftigen Sommerlook unnötig erschweren und die Beine kürzer machen.

Sonst bin ich ja ein Fan von Christian Louboutin, obwohl er sich nicht unbedingt auf Sommerlooks spezialisiert. Hier bevorzuge ich eher Giuseppe Zanotti, sowie die aktuelle Kollektion von Sergio Rossi – sehr schlicht und angenehm anzusehen. Der erfolgreichste und bekannteste Sandale-Hersteller ist Jimmy Choo. Heutzutage gibt es vieles als günstigere Version bei ASOS, Bebe, Topshop usw. Wer sagt, dass man bei dem Wetter nur Flip-Flops tragen kann? Eine gute Figur abzugeben, obwohl es unerträglich warm draußen ist, ist eine Kunst.
